Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Mpazi Sinjela

Professor Mpazi Sinjela is holder of Bachelor of Law degree (LLB) from the University of Zambia, Master of Law (LLM) and Doctor of Law (JSD) degree from Yale Law School (USA). He is Chancellor of Unicaf University Zambia and was its first Vice Chancellor.

He is a world-renowned scholar in the fields of international law including the law of the sea, human rights, intellectual property and constitutional law. He served as Senior Legal Officer at the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs, New York and as Dean of the World Intellectual Property Organization Worldwide Academy. He later served as Dean of the School of Law and Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Lusaka, was visiting Professor at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of the University of Sweden, the University of Torino (Italy) and the Hague Academy of Law of the International Court of Justice. He was also founding Editor of the African Yearbook of International Law founded in 1993 and is Editor of the Journal on Minority and Group Rights.
As Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Sinjela brings to the UOJ vast knowledge and experience and great commitment to ethical, rigorous, and accessible open-access to knowledge unearthed through research in various fields under the Journal’s domain.

 

Associate Editor-in-Chief: Dr. Rosemary Chigevenga (BSc, MSc, PhD)

Rosemary Chigevenga is a BPS Chartered Psychologist, Research Fellow, and Senior Consultant at Oxford Brookes University, specialising in community health psychology with a focus on mental health, women’s health, suicide prevention, HIV prevention, and child welfare. Her work combines academic and applied research to address health inequalities in underrepresented and low-resource settings, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. She holds a PhD from University of South Africa, MSc in Community Psychology (Midlands State University), BSc in Psychology (University of Zimbabwe) and Postgraduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education (Great Zimbabwe University).

She has extensive experience in higher education, contributing to teaching, supervision, and research training, and has supervised over 100 master’s students as well as co-supervising doctorate students. She also teaches with UNICAF University and Wrexham University. Her research includes collaborations with UNICEF, Oxfam, and Plan International on issues such as gender-based violence, child protection, and sexual and reproductive health.

Dr Chigevenga is widely published and actively engaged in the global academic community, serving as a reviewer for numerous journals and editorial board member for Psychological Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice and Policy Journal. She is a member of the British Psychological Society, International AIDS Society, and American Psychological Association, with expertise in qualitative research, systematic reviews, and knowledge exchange.
